The Mountain Film and Photography Festival (The Mostra) of the District of Sant Martí (Barcelona) is an initiative that was created between different hiking organizations: la Agrupació Excursionista Icària , la Colla Excursionista la Senyera, la Unió Excursionista de Sant Martí de Provençals and la Secció Excursionista del Foment Martinenc. The idea was exposed to the City council of Barcelona, that inmediatelly collaborated from its beginnings, in the year 1997.

The first two editions of the Mostra Festival took place at the Civic Center of Can Felipa located at the Poble Nou district, whereas from the third edition, the selected place was the Cultural Center of la Farinera del Clot. At the moment the Mostra is integrated by 5 organizations, the 4 founders more Canyoning Club Punto Límite.

The Mostra was created to be an exhibition-competition event, covering not only photography but amateur and professional films, giving an opportunity to people loving mountain and camera, to show their artistic works. In addition, the Festival acts also as culture difussion event and a place to discuss different points of views related to mountain.
